A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Fisheries Consultant in East Anglia, UK. The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of freshwater fisheries projects covering fish pass design for migratory and freshwater species and river restoration, to contributing to wider project work in the freshwater and terrestrial environment sectors. The role will include: the delivery of specialist fisheries advice particularly regarding fish passage; conducting fish passage feasibility assessments; working closely with engineering colleagues to deliver fish pass detailed design and builds; advising on fish and invertebrate ecology including habitat requirements; fish, general river and habitat surveys; consulting with stakeholders and liaising with regulators; providing assistance on project and contract administration and on environmental appraisal and assessments. The ideal candidate will have: a Masters in a relevant discipline; a proven record in fisheries science; ideally consultancy experience in a related field; knowledge of, or experience in fish pass projects; a good working knowledge of the Water Framework Directive.
