Technical Assistant for automated electronic systems for data collection (EM) on commercial fishing vessels

The Thünen Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries (OSF) in Rostock, Germany, is looking for a technical assistant. OSF develops the scientific foundations for a sustainable use of the fishery resources of the Baltic Sea. This includes the investigation of the stock structure and productivity of fish stocks, the data collection from the commercial fishery and the development of methods to minimize the impact of fishing on the marine ecosystem.

For this purpose, automated electronic systems for data collection (EM) on commercial fishing vessels are developed as part of a national innovation project. These systems include CCTV (cameraz), scanners and sensors for sensing position and movements. The candidate shall take care of existing and new EM systems and contribute to their development.
