Position at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, Facultad de Ciencias Biologicas. The successful candidate will lead research into the processes driving temporal and spatial variation in the abundance of marine benthic organisms on the Chilean coast, with emphasis on marine reserves. The successful candidate will have freedom to focus these broad research questions according to their own interest and experience. Close collaboration with coastal oceanographers, mathematical ecologists and social scientists is expected. This is a full-time, 18- month position.
Required Qualifications: a PhD in marine ecology, physical oceanography, mathematical ecology or related field; demonstrated ability to lead and publish research; fluency in English.
Desired Qualifications: working knowledge of Spanish; experience with numerical models; immediate availability.
