The Institute for Fishery Ecology of the Von-Thünen-Institute in Hamburg, Germany, is working in the field of environmental monitoring of the seas, and advises the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV) and other federal ministries in the implementation of EU and national policies affecting this sector. The candidate shall use experimental data to determine the effectiveness of pollutants and develop appropriate concepts for the marine monitoring and environmental assessment. An university degree (Master / M.Sc.) in mathematics (statistics emphasis), biometrics or a natural science with relevant expertise, preferably a PhD, is required.
